Is your PAN card linked with your Aadhaar card? If not then, do it as soon as possible. The Income Tax Department has recently said that the PAN will be inoperative after 31st March 2020 if not linked with Aadhaar.

Where a person, who has been allotted the permanent account number as on 1 July, 2017 and is required to intimate his Aadhaar number under sub-section (2) of section 139AA, has failed to intimate the same on or before March 31, 2020, the permanent account number of such person shall become inoperative immediately after the said date for the purposes of furnishing, intimating or quoting under the Act

Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT)

According to the report, 30.7 crore PANs have already been linked to Aadhaar while the remaining 17.5 failed to do it. The earlier extended date was 31st December 2019 and now is extended by three more months, i.e. 31st March 2020.

A new Income Tax rule 114AAA was added through a notification by CBDT conditioning the “manner of making permanent account number inoperative”.

The notification from CBDT states that, if you failed to link your Aadhaar with your PAN before 31st March 2020, then it will become inoperative and you will be 100% responsible for any further consequences.
